Day 1 You’ll arrive at Venice airport to a warm welcome, where YellowBoot staff will greet you and provide all the information you need for an unforgettable stay in Venice. You’ll take a water taxi to your hotel in the city, where you can immediately begin discovering the uniqueness of Venice. In the evening, wander around the city’s romantic and mysterious streets, called calli, before feasting at a typical local osteria with live music. Spend the night at your Venice hotel.
Day 2 In the morning you’ll enjoy a guided tour of the city to learn about its most important landmarks. After lunch you’ll be taken on a boat tour of the islands of the Venetian lagoon, including Murano, Burano and Torcello. Murano is world famous for its centuries old art of glass making, which is passed on from generation to generation. You’ll visit a vetreria to witness the expertise of a true maestro who’ll transform sand into a beautiful piece of glass art in mere minutes. Next, you’ll head to Torcello to explore its ancient church before enjoying lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, you’ll wander around the starkly painted houses of Burano island, which were originally decorated by the fishermen who lived there, so their homes would be easily recognised after returning from long voyages at sea. In the evening you’ll dine in a top restaurant and spend your night in Venice.
Day 3 In your rental car, set you GPS to your next destination: Verona. You’ll be taken on a guided tour of this beautiful city made famous by Romeo & Juliet’s love story. Take time to discover the ancient Roman arena, the small historic streets, the rolling hills and vibrant vineyards. Season permitting, we can book you an unforgettable opera night at the Arena. Follow our suggestions for a great dining experience, and spend the night in the city.
Day 4 Today begins with a journey to Florence to discover the city that gave birth to the Renaissance. You’ll be taken on a guided tour of the city to explore its famous churches, squares and basilicas, including the cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, Piazza della Signoria, Palazzo Vecchio, the Uffizi museum and Ponte Vecchio. In the afternoon, stroll by the river whilst you enjoy a gelato treat. Enjoy some world-class shopping or simply explore the ancient streets. You’ll dine at a recommended restaurant and spend the night in Florence.
Day 5 Head to the Tuscan countryside and immerse yourself in endless views of hills with cypresses and isolated country houses around the Chianti hills. Stop off for a visit to Greve, Radda and Castellina in Chianti. Sample some local wine and enjoy the delicacies of fresh local produce over lunch. Enjoy an aperitif in San Gimignano, then continue to Monteriggioni before arriving for dinner and an overnight stay in Siena.
Day 6 Spend the morning discovering the beautiful classical city of Siena. In the afternoon, discover the magical Val d’Orcia region, visiting San Quirico d'Orcia, then sample some local wine in Montepulciano and Montalcino. You’ll dine at a recommended restaurant and spend the night in Siena.
Day 7 You’ll arrive in Rome, where you’ll be taken on a guided tour of the eternal city. You’ll discover some of the city’s most glorious ancient landmarks, including Fori Romani and the Coliseum and its famous squares, Piazza Navona and Piazza di Spagna, and the Pantheon. Enjoy dinner at a recommended restaurant and stay overnight in Rome.
Day 8 Today you’ll visit the holy Vatican, where you’ll explore the world-renowned San Pietro Basilica and the treasure filled Vatican museums. In the afternoon, explore more of Rome at your own pace. Queue for the best gelato in town; pause for a photo with a Roman soldier, spend some time shopping in fashionable via Veneto; or simply kick back and enjoy an aperitif whilst watching the sunset from a rooftop terrace, admiring the endless beauty of this truly magnificent city. Feast on a local dinner and spend the night in magical Rome.
Day 9 Depart from Rome at a convenient time. Depending on the time of your flight, additional activities and cultural visits can be organised by special request.
