Day 1 You’ll arrive at Venice airport to a warm welcome, where YellowBoot staff will greet you and provide all the information you need to get the most out of your ski trip in Veneto. A transfer service will deliver you to your boutique hotel in the Dolomites. You’ll enjoy dinner and an overnight stay in the Dolomites.
Day 2 Start your day early and be the first to make your mark in the immaculate white snow. Spend a full day skiing amidst the pristine snow covered mountains and valleys of the Dolomites. Enjoy a typical mountain lunch of canederli, casunziei, speck and pastin by a warm fireplace at a wooden chalet. Dinner and overnight stay in the Dolomites.
Day 3 Wake up early to witness the stunning sunrise behind Monte Civetta, as you enjoy freshly baked bread and marmalade and a warm local tart straight out of the warm oven. Build up your energy for a full day of skiing within 50km of varying slopes in Alta Badia. In the late afternoon you’ll be pampered with a relaxing spa treatment to help you recover from a full day of skiing. Enjoy dinner in a beautiful wooden chalet overlooking the mountains. Overnight in the Dolomites.
Day 4 Take a break from skiing and try out several alternative activities: you may enjoy the fun of downhill sledding or carting on the ice; horse-riding or walking through the woods may be more ideal; or perhaps spend the day shopping in the various boutiques in the Dolomites or nearby. In the evening you’ll enjoy dinner at a remote mountain chalet atop a mountain, in a unique location only accessible by snowmobile; then descend down the mountain in a sledge under the gleaming night sky. Overnight stay in the Dolomites.
Day 5 Today you’ll visit a local, traditional malga, where you’ll discover the secret of local cheese and yoghurt making, passed on through generations, and have the opportunity to take home some of these delicacies. You’ll enjoy lunch at the malga, sampling the locally produced dishes from the region. In the afternoon a transfer service will bring you to Venice. You’ll take a water taxi to your hotel in Venice where you can immediately begin discovering the uniqueness of this city. In the evening, wander around the city’s romantic and mysterious streets, called calli, before feasting at a typical local osteria with live music. Spend the night at your Venice hotel.
Day 6 Begin your day with a guided tour of Venice to explore the most important sights. Discover the mosaics of Basilica di San Marco and the Palazzo Ducale; pause for a perfect photo opportunity in front of the Ponte di Rialto; queue for a cool gelato in the in town; and experience a romantic gondola tour through the canals of this stunning city. In the evening you’ll attend an opera or concert at the famous La Fenice theatre. Dinner and an overnight stay in Venice.
Day 7 You’ll be taken on a boat tour visiting the islands of the Venetian lagoon, including Murano, Burano and Torcello. Murano is world famous for its centuries old art of glass making, which is passed on through generations. You’ll visit a vetreria to witness the expertise of a true maestro who’ll transform sand into a beautiful piece of glass art in mere minutes. Next, you’ll head to Torcello to explore its ancient church before enjoying lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, you’ll wander around the starkly painted houses of Burano, which were originally decorated by the fishermen who lived there, so their homes would be easily recognised after returning from long voyages at sea. In the evening you’ll dine in a top restaurant and spend your last night in Venice.
Day 8 Depart at a convenient time from Venice airport. (Depending on time of departure, it may be possible to organise a cultural visit during the day by request).
